Football season is a go!

This was a special time of year. The first Longhorn game of the season. Texas killed a small team and it was a good game; but the best thing is being together as a family. Also cool was that BYU beat OU. Granted they are not as good as Texas we are happy to see OU lose and happy for the Hakes Family who all attended BYU.

Lets get going to Gualito's and Gualita's for the game guys!

We were all decked out (Chris got me a pink Colt McCoy jersey)

Aunt Iris and Uncle Joe came for the game too.

New Blog...

We started a new blog that is more of a journal of sorts. It will chronicle more in depth what is going on with the twins and Harmon and how this whole NICU thing is going. We are doing this so we don't have to send out mass emails or explain it often. Here is the link: http://thebabycupcakes.blogspot.com/ I promise to update this site every few days so check back if you want to know more often.

I really can't ever express how much I've appreciated everyone's support. Thank you!

Our cupcakes are here...

This last week they tried to wean me off the magnesium and send me home. It didn't work and so I had an emergency c-section yesterday.

Rachel Francisca Snow came at 12:42. She currently on a ventilator. We hope 3-5 days she will be off of it and on the CPAC like her brother. She weighs in at about 3 1/2 lbs.

Callum Brigham was born at 12:43 and is breathing on his own. He is really tiny, just under 3 lbs but is fighting hard and doing well.

Unexpected Detour...

Right after our 4th celebrations on Tuesday I started feeling all crampy and called the doctor. He told me to get checked out at the hospital to be safe. Next thing I knew I was being fully admitted and hooked up to IV's. Right now my doctor says the twins are doing great but want out. Unless something else changes I am going to be a long term admit. This mean that I will be here in the hospital until at least 32 wks (which is still 6 wks away). The goal is to last 10 more weeks and make it to full term. I HATE this... after college I never wanted to ever spend a day in the hospital again (and I haven't except to have Harmon) but we are sooo blessed that we were able to get help before something really bad had happend!

Watch out... BEACHED WHALE!

I miss Daddy!

and I guess Mommy too :p

4th of July Fun!!!!!

Fourth of July was a ton of fun! Our tiny family drove down to Albuquerque to attend the temple Friday and goofed off in town the rest of the Saturday shopping and checking out housing competitors. That night we drove home stopping in Old Mesilla for fireworks (Gm'a Hakes had gotten him the cutest outfit but he ruined it before we got to the fireworks by dumping and entire juice cup on it).

The only way to survive long car trips... don't tell Mom!

Come on Mackenzie... lets go see fireworks!

I can't see Daddy :(

Now I can see!!!
Okay enough fireworks... I'm ready for bed!

The next day the Zimmerman clan came over and we had a 5th of July bar-b-que.

Rocking Gma Hakes' cute outfit for the festivities!

Charming the Zimmerman Clan...

Great parents, great food, great fun, great blessings... GOTTA LOVE AMERICA!

We left our hearts in San Francisco...

Every year we do an anniversary trip in October. But our cupcakes are due this October so we figured it was now or never! Chris picked San Francisco and it was just WONDERFUL. We stayed at the Wharf and did things we never did during our original honeymoon such as Alcatraz and a Giants game. Chris even had a very very special surprise for me: tickets to my favorite musical Wicked!!!! It was probably a good thing I was freezing and that we left our little man at home w/Gualita b/c otherwise I dunno if we would have ever wanted to go home.

Big Changes...

Well, b/c multiples is such a risky pregnancy we have been a little worried to shout it from the roof tops. The rumours are true and yes we are expecting twins. Our goal is to have them born at 37 wks which would mean October 5. That minimizes the chances of them needing to stay in the hospital longer than I do.

This is our little girl. She has her back turned to us...

This is our little boy all nuzzled w/his face close to his hands.

We are all shocked and thrilled. 3 under 2 was never the plan but what in life ever goes as planned. I still have no idea how we will both be balancing work, a tot, and twins but that is where you just sort of put your trust in the Lord and let him figure out the details.

This was their first U/S at 5 wks... talk about a surprise!

This was at 6wks 4 days when both had a strong heart beat
